Good morning everyone, from sunny France. We have just taken possession of a 2007 Fleurette La Migrateur and spent our first weekend in it. Love it.

I have a Truma Trumatic C (not sure if its the 4002 0r 6002 model). Yesterday, we got a smell, not very strong but it smelt of heat, while we were heating the water side of the Truma tank. I went out to have a look inside the store where it is situated and the smell was there, but again not strong. The fan that would be used to blow the heat around the motorhome was really quite hot, as in you could put your hand on it but it was really pretty hot and you would soon lift your hand off it. Is this normal? If I can post a photo on here i will try.

Also, is it normal for there to be condensation dripping from the exhaust port on the side of the motorhome? There wasn’t much and the temperature was approx 24C outside.

Many thanks in advance for any wise words from you guys.

Good morning, can you confirm the heater is full of water?

Good morning Winger, as far as I can definitely say, yes it is. I have filled the main tank, turned on pump on control panel, run the cold until it’s constant and then done exactly the same with the hot system. We get hot water okay.

Sorry but I can’t be of any more assistance.
I thought the experts would have chipped in by now

Our Truma smells a bit if it’s on Hot or Boost for water. I’m sure the unit itself will get pretty warm too.
Exhaust condensation for a while is quite normal too.

Thank you Winger. David and Sally, thank you too. I understand that the actual boiler would get hot but surely the serious heat on the fan housing can’t all be down to simple heat transfer, or can it? I’ve never noticed it before, either the smell or the heat so I’ve no idea if it was already there

I tried running it on heat only. After 45 minutes it had done nothing. Hadn’t fired up. Maybe, even at it’s highest setting, the actual temperature was high enough to stop the thermostat from activating
