Good evening all you knowledgeable funsters out there. I’m after your thoughts on the old truma control panel or the new iNetX control panel. My dilemma is my Truma combi 4E boiler has given up on me and needs replacing, the question is do I but the new combie 4E with the old style control panel of spend the extra £100 and buy the one with the new inetX control panel. really interested in your views and experiences. And any positive or negatives for both panels.

I recently upgraded my inet box to the inetx and very pleased with the result. I find it so much easier to use as the previous version would be problematic when using the central control knob. Even after Truma suggested easing of the screw behind the knob there were still lots of times when it just would not react to my finger pressure. The new inetx, being touch screen, has so far worjed a treat. Yes I know it doesn't have a timer feature ( a strange oversight) but I can control it using the app from our bed and Truma will be sending updates through the app so maybe at some point they might stick a timer on it. Also, it looks more 21st century than the old one!

One big advantage of the newer unit is if you have a fault the unit not only gives you a fault code it also explains what the code is and also offers possible causes of said fault.
Very helpful I think.

Agree with both the above - the lack of a timer function (at the moment) and remote connectivity via SMS doesn’t bother me as the more intuitive display and access outweighs both. Updates promised appear to include remote access (wi-fi?) in the future if the blurb on the Truma website is to be believed.
