Advice please. Is it perfectly safe to run my Trauma heater as a gas heater only without any water in the system?

Yes, but with water in it you’ll get free hot water just because you have it on heating…bonus..

Many thanks. I drained the system a few weeks ago but had to take my Kingham out today/overnight. As it's gone rather cold l wanted to heat the van up...but these things cross your mind. however, Ivorantony and you have now eased my initial worries.
