Can anyone please tell me what a constantly flashing red light on the thermostat knob means? Truma manuwl is useless on this.
Have run the system for 2 nights wild camping with no problems; drained everything down as we've had some cold nights and when I started to reboot and test the system got the flashing red light.
I thought it might be running the system with the boiler empty, but that's now filled; or low gas pressure from a 'Le Cube' but still get it on Calor.
Am only running on gas and 12v. The blown air heating works fine, don't neccesarily want to guzzle loads of gas so haven't run things long enough to heat the water.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Reading fault codes will be difficult as I'll need to dismantle most of a wardrobe to get at the unit!

Problem solved...I think. Had the fuel selector wheel in the wrong place so it was looking for 230v. Why not just tell you that in the instructions?!?

The Truma manual is truly awful. It uses the same symbol to mean different things. Been using ours for over three years and still get it wrong sometimes! There's a really useful document in the Resources section that explains it all. I think Minxygirl posted it.

I got to that bit of the manual but really! "Failure" - that could mean so many different things.
How about solid red light = out of gas
Blinking red light = no 230v supply
Simples!! But nowhere in the manual does it suggest those simple things to check.

Not only that but they make use of symbols with more than one meaning. Never a good thing.

Thanks a lot. I´ve been spending a lot of hours to find out about the red blinking light. So simple, when you know it :)

I had the ‘fast flashing red light’ and found it to be the main switch for the heater in the panel where the fuse board is located was actually off. Once switched on, hey presto, no red light and the heater started working......doh! Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?

:hiya: And welcome to the forum.

The top control comment for heating only isn't quite clear, in that if there is water in the combi then you will get hot water. However the water temp will be whatever the heating system outlet air temperature is (given enough time for it to heat the water & the van & have been stable for a while) When the van gets up to temp the water temp will fall as it's not maintained and will continue to do so until the next van heating demand.

Really perhaps should be advised as heating priority as the 60'C water seems to prioritise water temp. Only after achieving 60'c water temp do you seem to get much heat out of the air ducts.

Well that's how our old Kon-Tiki (Truma 6E) seemed to work.

What does it mean if the green light is on but the red one is flashing beside it??

The water heater all still works fine it’s just the normal heater now not working

Green light is “in operation”
Red flashing is “failure“

Often no gas, or faulty gas supply.

What power source are you trying to use?

Get a pic of your dials up and you may get more help.
