Getting Better
I was playing around with my new van and the control panel, I inadvertently pressed the rest button and now there’s not much info on the screen…

On start up just the clock a spanner symbols..

Going through the menu comes up with time intel reset etc… on the intel bit this code shows up: C 104.0 1

But whatever I press nothing really responds….

It was all working fine until I “fixed” it…😆

Any ideas other than giving myself a good slap…?

How do you clear a Truma fault code?

Leave the heater for 15 minutes. Then when the flashing warning triangle has gone solid, scroll to it and confirm or delete the fault code by tapping the rotary push button. Please note that the first tap might only activate the backlighting of the control panel.

I don’t think it’s an error code, but more likely a part or version number. Zooming in gives it as C1.04.01 and doing a search on that brings up this old thread

Though unfortunately that doesn’t help with your problem.

I’ve since found that it’s not a code this number, it is the system number that’s installed, so to clarify I have no fault l code..
Just a relative blank screen…

Have found this old thread which may give you a few options to try.

Ok, I took the panel of this morning and the socket came away easily so it could be the problem and looks like the joints have dried up, I’ll try and solder it back on and see if that helps otherwise the cheapest I’ve found is around £100 and that’s for the I-net one so if I can’t fix it I hope an I-net one would still work….🤷🏼‍♂️

Well I got it soldered back on and it hasn’t made any difference…🙁

Ok, an update on this…
After checking everything and fixing some joints on the circuit board it still wouldn’t work, however I wired it directly to the battery and hey presto it worked so I began to investigate the cbe ds300 and sorted out a few dodgy connections.

There was a slight current going to the boiler but not enough, having read the manual on the ds300 it gives a wiring diagram and in the connection on the block where the wire for the boiler goes states “power to combi, dependent on lights “

Now out of curiosity I turned the control panel on and I turned on the habitation lights and then tried the combi and it fired up..😱🤷🏼‍♂️

So it appears that if I have the lights on in the van my boiler will work..? Obviously the wiring cannot be right and I’ve tried everything I can think of…. My only go to now would be to buy a new ds300 at around £150 but it must be something easy that I’m just not seeing…

Any thoughts anyone..?

Just Rewire the power for the combi direct to the battery via a 10 amp fuse that's the way Hymer do it.
That enables you to have heat with everything else shut down, can be useful at times.

I did think of this but just needed some reassurance…👍🏼

The fact that our Vantage shuts all the 12v down apart from the compressor fridge really pisses me off. Why? Why turn everything off?

Because it's Brit built and they still build them to Caravan rules.

Saves them having to test equipment for EMC under the automotive section which is much more stringent than domestic, is a reason often given.
Also they build to NCC (National Caravan Council) guidelines who still life in the past.

I’m up in Inverurie Scotland now for Christmas and my sisters near Gatwick for new year in the car, I will be starting the van in Ernest when I get back… 2/3 gel batteries, solar panels, solar controller and a 1000w inverter and the gubbing’s to connect it all.. take off the aircon and seal the hole..😳 take out the microwave, move the controller panel and heater panel to a more lower level because I'm a short ass and sort a proper scuttle drain fix and a load other little bits to get it to my satisfaction…. Im going to be a busy boy..😎

Oh… and weather permitting
