Bailey Adamo 75-4i
Hi, bought a new Bailey Adamo 75-4i in September of last year. For various reasons purchased the Motorhome in Cheshire although I live in East Sussex.
Recently, the toilet roll holder fell off the wall, the retaining clip for the bedroom door pulled out of the woodwork, and to cap it all the external toilet door handle fell off !! It is a Baldacci V1155 and is now lying inside the toilet. Also it seem this handle has a additional lock, ( a small circular section on the lock trim with a screw head ) Can turn the lock with a screwdriver but the door will not open so any help would be welcome in how to open the door, (apart from taking the hinges off please!) Photo of door attach.
However more serious is that when I contact my local Bailey Dealer as requested by Bailey customer service. He is 25 miles away, I asm told that they cannot help as I did not buy the van from them!! It seems Bailey pay so little for this type of work that it's not worth it - so much for Baileys boast of fixing problems!!!!
Anyone had this problem as well, and does anyone have the answer to my door problem please?
Regards Stubby

Can’t help with the door however it’s very common that dealers will only do warranty work on vans they have themselves sold unless you can get Cheshire to come to an arrangement with your local dealer to cover the cost, unlikely though. Hindsight is a great thing however they would have told you that upfront had you asked when you bought the van.

Check YouTube, you may find a video there of someone who has fixed this in the past.

Follow up thought, re name or start new post describing van type and issue you want fixed, that way someone with experience may be more likely to read it than the generic title of this post. 😀

Yes - a common situation. I had similar issues with my Burster. My local dealer (Heart of England Motorhomes in Weedon) was happy to take my money for the annual water ingress check but when they spotted a problem the wouldn't fix it!

I did find Camper UK in Lincoln willing to take on warranty work (although the are still 100 mile round trip from me.)

It’s a cartel that needs shaking up, you may find the original dealer may pay a mobile technician to come along to you and fix the issue

The door handle is the same as ours in an eldiss. The handle has a rod that runs into the other side and all is held in place by an Allen screw on the underside of the handle.
We are out at the moment but will add a photo of it when we get back to the van .
Ours comes loose periodically. Its easy to fix.

I don't know if these photos help .

The handle on ours is held in place by an Allen screw that grips onto the handle shaft to the inside of the door. The handle simply pushes onto the shaft and is then secured with the Allen screw.
You can open the door by pushing in a flat bladed screwdriver to engage the square holes in the opposite handle. You just have to turn it far enough for the lock to come off the lock plate.

It's not.
All motorhome dealers are independents - not franchised, like cars are - Bailey pay way below what it would cost to fix any warranty work and your contract (sale) is with who you bought it from, not the manufacturer.

cartel = A combination of independent business organizations formed to regulate production, pricing, and marketing of goods by the members.
