Hi everyone
My partner for our next trip is wanting a week in south wales
I have never looked into going so wanted to know if you guys know of best places to visit and sites to stay
We will have 10 days away

Depending on what you like to do I would say Brecon/Crickhowell are both nice spots as is Talybont on Usk. If you like coastal there are some great beaches on the Gower and a site we have stayed at which is really nice and virtually on the beach is Nicholaston Farm.
Not in South Wales but on the edge is Forest of Dean and Wye Valley which are both worth a look👍

The Welsh tourist board will be delighted with your choice of destination.
The Gower and Pembrokeshire would be my recommendation and the Brecon beacons if you want to head inland.
Wales is beautiful and has much to recommend it, apart from the political leadership who seem to want to destroy the place 😡

Swansea is worth a visit, went for a couple of hours and stopped 2 days, got free museums etc, there is MH 5 van site at the marina but is about £25 a night but we picked up a free carpark on P4N just around the corner.

Hills - Brecon, Talybont on Usk area
Cliffs - Pembrokeshire coast around Little Haven
Sand beaches - Pembrokeshire coast, anywhere on St Brides Bay, Glamorgan, Oxwich Bay
Steam Trains - Brecon Mountain railway, Gwili Railway
National Parks AONB - Pembrokeshire Coast, Brecon Beacons, Gower Peninsula
Wildlife - I would have said Llanddeusant Red Kite Feeding Station, but these stunning birds are now widespread

I have just come back from a short stay in South Wales

I can really recommend Pembrey. An 8 mile long beach and although there is a 1 mile section that bans dogs, the other 7 miles are dog friendly. There are s couple of ships wrecks if you wonder along the beach a little ways, plus a cycle path to Burry Port. Cue little pancake place at the harbour

I looked at a lot of campsites on the Gower and was disgusted at the prices. £59 a night for 1 person at one place, the rest weren't much better. I stayed at Gowerton Club Site, easy access to everywhere else such as Rhossili, Mumbles, Swansea etc and much better priced. At £20.40 a night, with EHU, a third to half the price of other campsites in the area!! You can also walk to the Wetland centre from there if you like birds

Thank you I will check this out we are going for the week but I normally move about
Last year we went to Cornwall and every 2 days we changed sites and areas working our way up so would like to do the same rather then stick to one site

I did 2 nights at Pembrey Club Site (can easily walk to beach, although the dunes are tough on your thighs if you have to use the dog entry point).

Then 2 nights at Gowerton. Although it's not far, saved extra driving. I like to move around after a few nights too! Especially if going for a week or longer. Not so much weekend trips though
