Hi been looking at various Trigano Tributes searching over their previous mot’s an awful lot of them seem to have corrosion Issues, although they are Fiat ducato same as the Hymer I’ve got now.Do Hymer do something to the chassis(rust treatment ) that trigano don’t do?

Having owned a fiat ducato based hymer , a burstner, a euramobil and a mobilvetta all using the same chassis cab I haven't seen any difference in the underside with regards to treatment in fact I had to weld the hymer front jack points and under front arches.

Not sure what year if trigano you're looking at but all the older 244 models can have rust issues. The newer 250 models I believe were galvanised and rust less

But also be aware that mot inspectors can often over react with their advisories on rust underneath . Some sound like the titanic from their description but in truth have a bit flaky paint and some surface rust.

Much will depend where you live and travel to. I see you live in Coventry which may rule out salt from the sea but for some reason, perhaps different rust preventative treatments being sprayed with waxoil etc to protect damage while standing may have bypassed your van. (Do they spray vans underneath before sales?)

I think you will have to be realistic about your expectations. You are looking at vans 20 years old. Any make or model will possibly have risk of rusting at this age. The tributes will be no different to any other type based on the FIAT. Best get it inspected before buying. I have a pal who just spent a fortune on welding his 2009 Peugeot. Transits and mercs from that era are far worse. If it's been looked after you can get a good van that age.
