Would any seasoned travellers, be able to recommend a travel insurance company for a single trip of more than 35 days, for a couple aged 72 and 64. Just had a quote for £612.

Try LV my annual policy is less than half of that with 90 days cover , 75 with pre existing.

Will depend where you are going. I can’t get annual policies for the Caribbean and USA I’m under 65 and have a minor pre-existing condition. travel insurance seems to have gotten a lot more expensive. but an annual policy for Europe seems a sensible suggestion

We always shop around as every year we go with different companies.

But to help with your research have you tried here?….…..

Sometimes an annual policy is more value than a one off single trip policy.

Thanks to all that replied re our travel insurance. Have tried 9 different companies and the prices range from £612 to over £900. This is for a single trip / annual trip. Apparently, its not to do with my medication, it's more to do with the length of time we are planning to be away (76 days). Dp fellow Funsters consider these to be accurate and reasonable quotes?

Where is cover - Europe 1, Europe 1 & 2 or Worldwide?

I have an annual policy for Europe 1 & 2 but cover is limited to trips of 30 days or 1 month at a time at a cost of about £300 but we both have declared medical histories which have increased the cost.

And you need to declare medical histories!
Insurance contracts are ones of utmost good faith to be valid!

Our cover with Staysure ran out in December and we didn't renew as 1. We have nothing booked atm and won't until the spring and 2. As we have sold the van we plan to go further afield and do other things and for some reason they do not include Spain (and the Canaries) in their basic European cover, what's that all about? Adding cruise cover adds significantly to the cost so I'll be looking elsewhere this year.

LV just quoted us £254 both over 70, blood pressure and cholesterol for the wife nothing for me and 90 days.
Nationwide you need flex plus account £10pm? Then £287 for trip ex, age, medical.
Looks like its LV.
