If it's repaired I don't see why it should make any difference, it's more likely to be ok now than not knowing.Has anybody had a travel insurance quote after the repair as pre operation they seem extremely pricey
Yes. Waiting to hear from the hospital. Had bloods tests done prior to scan so waiting on a date for that and then op after that.it went up from 4.3 to 5.5Are you having to have an op Joe?
I hope they get you sorted out quickly, when were you hoping to get away again?Yes. Waiting to hear from the hospital. Had bloods tests done prior to scan so waiting on a date for that and then op after that.it went up from 4.3 to 5.5
They are not annual, it’s a one off screening scan at 65. It only gets repeated if it’s enlarged and not requiring surgery, then it’s scanned more regularly to monitor it to see if it reaches a size requiring surgery. The frequency of rescanning depends on the size. They are annual scans but women are not scanned scans start at 65
if it reaches 6 cams you have to surrender your driving license and only get it Bach after a repair.
That means you have a small AAA measuring 3-4.4cm, if it reaches 4.5 cm you’ll be called 3 monthly as it would then be classed as a medium sized one, still fairly low risk though! 5.5 cm or above is classed as large and high risk so requires surgery.I’ve had annual scans since 65 was going up fairly slowly
It was explained to me that if you don’t have an AAA at 65, then you’re unlikely to develop one. Hence it’s a one-off scan if nothing untoward is found. They are not annual, it’s a one off screening scan at 65.
