I'm new to it
Hi, last October my wife and myself were away when we noticed water coming from under the bed and found we had a water leak on the cold water pipe. Anyway fast forward to last week I decided to replace the pipe’s behind the water tank which meant I had to remove it. I have now refitted the tank after replacing all the pies behind the tank including the hot water pipes and cleaned the tank out. The trouble I’m now having is that the cold water is spluttering all the time and the hot water seems to be not as strong as before even though I’ve done what I usually do to get the air out. Also there is a lot of vibration when you open the taps which I presume is due to the air in the system. Is there any way of getting this out or have I missed something else that should be done ? Also when replacing cold water pipes I didn’t put this back as I thought it was just a pipe stop on an unused pipe. Am I right in thinking that or is it something to do with getting rid of trapped air ? Thanks in advance.

Open all taps, showers (yes including the one in the garage if you have one) on cold and just keep going until it stop spluttering. Then do same on hot. ✔️

Thanks but that doesn’t work unfortunately I’ve tried all taps open together and also one by one but it makes no difference. Before I changed the pipes that would have been sufficient.

Did it all work ok, then, you did the recent work, and now you have the problem?

Or

Did it all work ok, last time you used the van, a while ago. Now you have done the work and have the problem???

Would it be possible that you had a bit of water left in the little pre pump water filter during the recent cold spell, and it has a hairline crack in it now allowing air to be drawn in??

Just a thought.

Thanks Terry I only noticed it when I had cut all the old pipe work out, fitted the new and taken MH back to the compound. I thought it looked a bit strange having a pipe that goes nowhere with that on the end. I will have to remove the tank again to get to the straight through connection to turn it back into a T one and connect the piece of pipe back on.

No Andy it worked when I tested it with tank out and container of water to check where the leaks were before I replaced the pipe. I found another leak so decided to replace the lot. It’s after this my life went to pot 😆

Have you got the bit that was on the end of the pipe?

Possibly try blowing through it and see if it allows air out. I haven’t seen anything that looks like that before.

I’ve put a picture on Andy. It can’t do any harm to fit it back on only trouble being I have to remove the bed to then remove the tank again. At least I know what I’m doing after removing it last week. Thanks
