We bought one as well.. I was not impressed ... until I tried it out

They really do work and unlike an air con are as cheap as chips to run either on mains or 12 v

Do you have to put cold water or ice in this unit for it to cool or does it cool the water we have a dyson fan at the moment just blows the warm air around are these units better than fans ?.

We just use tap water.. absolutely no idea how it works but it does!

You can just use tap water but if it's really hot, we also drop in either ice cubes or the freezer packs you use inside cool boxes
