When my towcar is hooked up to my motorhome ,all the lights and brakes work. Is there any legal requirment to have a "Towcar " sign and reflective triangles in addition.

We use reflecting triangles when we tow. As for the legality? We have never been stopped. Last week we drove home and I forgot the number plate change on the car. Doh !
No problem on the way.

done the same thing with the no plate. (senile Moment), Not easy on my Peugeot 107 to attach triangles externally as the rear of the car is glass or plastic. No metal for magnets.

I have a Pug 108 and have made alluminium brackets supporting the reflectors which are attached to the number plate which inturn just clips over the car's no plate.

The UK lighting regs are quite clear.
All trailers must have triangular shaped red reflectors, no other vehicles are allowed to display triangular shaped reflectors.
So, as your car is now a trailer then YES you should be displaying them.
