Hi all
Me and the Mrs touring our way up to beamish and surrounding area for a week so looking for some nice places to visit and stop over. Doing a mix if wild and camp sites.
Anyone got any good ideas?

When we took our 3 grandkids earlier last year, we travelled from Doncaster on the Friday, after the kids finished school. I can recommend 2 pubs to stop over when get to Beamish. We stopped at
https://southcausey.co.uk/ the night before our full day at Beamish, and after we had enjoyed the long day around the Living museum, we stayed at https://www.blackhorsebeamish.co.uk/#message. We did phone ahead to book a table for a meal, as it was the weekend. You don’t have to have a meal, just drinks if that’s your thing, but it was just easier for me and MrsB, rather than listening to 3 teenagers all wanting different things to eat in the van. Both pubs had excellent large flat car parks, both had dog friendly areas and I’ll be using them both again when we visit Beamish again later this year (we did buy a season ticket, as we booked a time slot on both the Saturday and the Sunday because you can’t do it all in one day)
Again, at the time of our visit, it must have been wedding season, as both had weddings going on at the time…
Enjoy 👍
