I think it’s interesting. Is tyre blowout linked to potholes?

Quite suprised at the average cost of theft claims being just over £30k, with the current cost of motorhomes I would have thought this would be higher.

It's probably including theft from inside the motorhome as well as the motohomes themselves so averaging out to the "low" value.

I was surprised at the percentage of claims for awnings and canopies.

1 - didn't realise motorhome insurance would cover ancillaries like awnings. (Maybe they are including caravan insurance)

2 - I have had damage to my wind out awning but it seemed cheaper to self repair than claim. I guess if it was a total write off it might be worth it. ??

Plus there is the next year's premium increase to take into account.
Similarly with the low tyre associated claims unless there was some unfixable damage caused by the blowout not many claims would be made to the insurer.

Motorhome tyres have high sidewalls compared to cars so far less lightly to suffer from potholes. A lot of blowouts are caused by running tryes that are too old.

Unless it damaged the van probably not cost effective to claim even if the awning was written off.
