We have had torrential rain this morning in Devon leaving much water on the roads and in the gutters. An hour or so later and its now blue sky with big white fluffy clouds hurtling across the sky because the wind is now rising at an alarming rate. Our wheelie bins have already blown away this morning and I can hear the wind whistling outside from time to time!

The leafy suburbs of the Hants/Surrey border have just had quite a bit of wind so went out to take the cover off the motorhome. I didnt think it was turning up til tonight but trees are swaying here already

It’s no joke talking of wind, storm Desmond Dec 2015 was the worst I’ve ever seen, what carnage.

October 89 was the big one for us. A big break for us too. We were bidding with about 4 others to provide security to an oil company's executives. The storm damaged a building on Epson Downs when at least 4 one hundred-year-old oaks smashed into it. This place held tons of company archives in storage.

They needed salvage, urgent makeshift repairs, and security. They asked all the companies involved in the bid to help. As a new start-up, we had little work on, and were the only ones who could help. This stood us in good stead for our bid. I had that contract for 10 years, only lost it when they sold it to the oil giant 'Total'. That storm was terrible for so many, but so good for me.

Yes that’s business for you, I see there’s already loads of roofers, general builders posting on the local farcebook sites about tomorrows storm and how good they are and their details.

25ºC here today and the bloody sun is out again. So the few drops of rain yesterday (was gonna be Armageddon if you were to believe the alarmists) were just enough to wet the pavements, but the reservoirs are still empty, so thank goodness for the desalination plants. Good luck to all of you suffering the high winds, let's hope nothing serious happens.

We have gone red.
Bluetti on charge. Hope we don’t need it.
Looking out the window now it’s blue skies and no wind. The calm before the storm?

We are on the edge of the red zone.

Martin has walked round and secured anything loose that might become a missile.

My garage in the last one just before Xmas. 2 Trees from the council owned park decided to pay one of my garages in my garden a visit.
They have been dragged out already in the pics.
Still chasing the council even now.
