Does anyone use bamboo toilet paper in their motorhome? Is it a viable alternative to proper motorhome toilet paper?

it’s toilet paper that you pay more for allegedly it’s supposed breaks down quickly making it easier to pour away

I’ve got some bamboo socks they don’t dissolve though😬we just use our normal stuff that dissolves to nothing if you are using bio liquids in your cassette👍😊

Trust me, a Motorhome toilet is very tolerant compared with a boat toilet, and don’t even mention people that swallow olive pit’s! Of course trying to clear the problem with an inflatable dinghy pump was a BIG mistake!

Thetford toilet paper is a complete and utter scam.
I cringe when I think about purchasing it in the past .

the bamboo stuff is a scam too, wood fibre is softer than bamboo fibre. What you don't use is the heavyweight big brand name stuff. Too many layers slow down the dissolving, as does the addition of Alovera and oils, which make it more waterproof. best way to check is get a piece wet and rub gently between your fingers. Expensive stuff stays solid but rears, the cheap stuff starts dissolving to pulp

Just buy supermarket own brand unless you want to clear blockages jamming the mechanism a few times a season

Totally with you there.

I had a girlfriend on board who, when eating cherries counted 'Tinker, sailor........ till she got to Richman and then dumped the rest.

Fortunately the Henderson V was not too difficult to clear.

When we bought the MH (2020) I bought the Thetford stuff thinking it was required. Now just use anything and we’ve never had an issue.

No matter what type/ brand of paper you use… always follow the military approach in terms of how much you use each “visit”….

No more that 3 sheets….. One up, One down and One shine..
You can tell my that!!!

Bamboo paper is as bad as wet wipes & doesn’t break down easily - stick to using normal toilet paper

Going to use Bio paper (no chemicals, no bleach), from our local BioCoop in France. We have compost toilets in remote house inFrance and this paper does it’s work and disappears well in the mix. Tried it in a jar of water and it breaks down very quickly. So see no reason to change.

I use bamboo loo roll at home and in the van…still used the put it in a bag protocol though. I buy “who gives a crap”. I think it’s good value for money and when I compared the length of time it took to use up as opposed to Asda Shades, it lasted 3 times as long.
