On our Flash 10 the light switch for the toilet area is on the kitchen wall. This means that if someone goes to the toilet in the middle of the night the bright toilet lights come on when the door is being opened. Not only that, the light sines through the tambour door skin. All of which can disturb the person still in bed. So, for less than £10 I designed a dim light which comes on automatically when the door is opened, gives enough light in the toilet area, but not bright enough to shine through the tambour door. It's fully automatic, uses zero power when the door is shut, uses 110mA when the door is opened and the light comes on and uses 10mA if the door is left open and the light has timed out. So no chance of draining any batteries.

The light is timed to stay on for 6 minutes but this is adjustable. The timer circuit is hidden in the body of the storage area factory fitted light. The timer circuit needed the addition of one diode to give correct operation. The lights are sold on ebay as number plate lights. The micro switch fits nicely into place under the door. If anybody needs further details let me know. Pics in no particular order;

Good idea, it looks like the halogen bulb is melting the cover on the original light…🤔

If you mean the light in the storage locker in my photo, it's not melting, it's scuff marks from stuff hitting it on the outside.
