We came on the Tunnel early this morning and can understand why Eurotunnel had delays yesterday. There is snow all over the place and it’s minus 4 and foggy in places. We were going to spend a few days driving down to our house but have decided to make it in two days. We have just pulled up in Marboue and have the Aire to ourselves. The trip started with himself filling the MH up with petrol, so we bunged up Tesco’s petrol station until someone came to empty the tank.

Bug*er, thats not the start you want, did it cost a lot to get it drained.
I saw a van recently and it seemed he was a specialist in correcting miss-fueling, he looked a very busy man.
Nice earner I expect.

I paid at the pump and left him to fill up while I went to buy some milk. When I got back he said’dont start the engine’I’ve put petrol in. The Tesco lady gave us a phone number. We waited about an hour for them to come out. It cost £168 plus the wasted tank of fuel. The lad was very helpful, he said that the refinery takes ithe mixed fuel back and can now separate it.
Marboue was 4 degrees yesterday afternoon and it has rained during the night.

Be positive, if he had driven it before he noticed, you could have beggared the engine up:whistle:

Sorry to hear that ,I hate it when you start a trip on bad footings
I would happily pay the 168 + fuel to be n France just now lol

Sorry to hear about the fuel! Must be a horrible feeling when you realise what’s happened!
We haven’t seen any snow, Cherbourg peninsular, last night was so warm the heating turned off and this morning it’s very mild but misty and damp.
In fact this whole winter, so far, has been very kind to us here.

Where are you heading for ?
Thanks for all you best wishes. Michael has been hanging his head in shame all the way down. These things happen, it's running fine and the house is still standing so what more could we need.

We have a house in Les Eduts 10 minute drive from Aulnay de Saintonge. We arrived 10 minutes ago. We had a good drive from Marboue, it's 10 degrees outside but colder in the house. We have turned the heating on and it's now a walk for Casper.
We have room to park a couple of motorhomes if anyone needs an overnight stop with electric.

That’s very kind of you , I’ll get the MH ready lol
I have a friend who has a house in Fontenay-le-Comte
I used fly down , land at a airfield nearby & he would come & pick us up
My plane has now been replaced with my MH , it’ll take me a bit longer
But I’m hoping to back in France this year
