The worst hook-ups are 6 amps. That's still ~1400w. Aren't most toasters well under that?

Power is not the issue. Compact size and performance is more important to me. I am a tad fussy about my toast.

We use Tesco basic cheap toaster. Works for us

We bought a 700w one from Curry’s. Works well, check on line under Curry’s Business,it’s about £9 if I remember. Not shown in store but go on line and see if local branch has it then go in. I think they dont put on shelf’s so that the more expensive ones are sold. It’s basic but works, sandwich bread fits but normal loaf is a bit tall so you have to turn around but not a problem

It tends to be the cheap basic ones are the smallest in size and power, we’ve also found toasters cheap or expensive don’t travel well, the elements don’t shake well.
