Sorted. I've just bought a second-hand drilling lorry from the GPO. It's got a drill 10" x 20 feet. Connect to that and I should be good to go.

If the race course want any telegraph poles installing I might get a free weekend.

The advice I received from Honda regarding my EU10i generator: Ensure a good earth AND as it has a "floating" earth to get an Earth / Neutral bond. This will ensure that trips etc will work correctly. I made up a lead (and labelled it) with the E / N link and this was first of all used on the narrowboat that we owned and the same lead would fit the EHU connection on the van. I now have neither the van or the narrowboat but I have kept the generator - now running exclusively on gas.
