Currently in Tintagel. Lovely place. I think there are at least four car parks that allow motorhomes on overnight stops. Cost is £8.50 for 24 hours. The one I'm in has a grass field at the back for summer use so there's plenty of room.

Why can't more places be like this?

Yes we noticed that last week, there is also a similar type set up for motorhomers in Bude behind the tourist info office.

Is that a similar price?

We were in the same carpark as you last Thursday night. Good value, and very quiet this time of year.

To be honest, Tintagel itself is a bit of a dump compared to other Cornish villages and towns, with lots of wierd, mystic, newage hippy shops and tired pubs and tea rooms.

However it's got great walking from there to Trebarwith Sands and the excellent Port William pub.

The other highlight of Tintagel are the pasties from the local bakery; they've a window on the side so you can watch them being made fresh each day by hand.

Looks like £21 per night from Google Maps.

Again we stayed at the dedicated motorhome "Aire" in Bude last week. Not as good value as Tintagel but right in the centre of town.

£15 off season and £21 in the summer.

Another branch of Pengenna Pasties here also!

Some car parks have signs with lengthy terms and conditions. That's not the case at Tintagel.

True, but some of the reviews of the other carparks in Tintagel on P4N have complaints that there had been overzealous enforcement by the management company Parking Eye months later, by which time it was apparently hard to disprove. (My guess is that people had mis-entered their registration so the ANPR cameras had not recognised it).

A couple of months ago we overnighted in the car park at Millendreath Beach, Looe, and luckily paid the required fees via the RingGo app. Three weeks later the operators - Premier Car Parks - sent me a PCN alleging non-payment and a hefty £££ charge, to which I replied attaching the relevant invoices from my RingGo account which confirmed payment had been made. For some reason the idiots refused to accept this so I appealed to POPLA, which resulted in an almost immediate withdrawal of their claim.

Moral of the story is:
a) these people are sharks and will attempt any method possible to obtain your money.
b) they will ignore the fact that you can prove payment in the hope you won’t bother to appeal against them.
c) wherever possible pay online so you have a future record of payment even if there is a small charge to do so.

And d) do not use the QR code on a car park sign or machine to download a payment app - there are verified instances of scammers placing their own QR stickers over the genuine ones to obtain your financial details - get the required app by other means.

Given its £21 for 18:00 - 09:00, do you also have to pay per hour for the rest of the day? Becomes quite expensive if you plan to spend a day there.

& totally illegal as they only have 14 days to send the PCN when it is from a camera. If sent after then they are attempting to claim a pecuniary advantage or money by deception & committing a fraudulent act.
Different if the PCN is given out at the time by a warden.

as above. 3 weeks is illegal it was an attempt at scamming the money from you & why it was immediately dropped when you went to popla

This ^^^^ .I'd always report to the trading standards & police if & when they do or have done it to me

We've used the King Arthur's Arms park at Tintagel a couple of times in the past. The pub also does breakfast but maybe only in high season.

100% agree. We always use the parking apps so we've got a record of times and payments. I reckon we've got about 7 or 8 now. Shame they can't all use the same one.

It's also handy using the apps when staying at the carparks that are free overnight and start charging from 8.00 or 9.00 in the morning. If you fancy a lie in, you can put an hour on the meter from the comfort of your campervan bed!

Does that include services or just parking at 'The Crescent'?
Just parking, but in a separate marked out area with decent sized spaces.

No water or waste. There's free public toilets 50 yards away if you're trying to extend your cassette.

Free before the 1st april ( I should have read the rest of the posts) 🤦🏻‍♂️
No it's not. It's £15 until 1st April.
See post #21 above.
We were there last Wednesday.

Goes up from £15 to £21 from April 1st (and they change the parking sign accordingly to the summer rates).

Not like the councils to try and catch you out.
