I have asked Renault main dealer ,They say replace only when it starts to rattle.
I have asked a local garage who also said no need unless you can hear it start to rattle.
At 235,000 and serviced every 25,000 mile it is still very quite not noises.
Previous owner was smiths Renault main dealer

Have any Renault master owners had this job done. Main dealer said if done the engine has to be removed ?

Thanks in advance Peter

That was one of the reasons we have a 2002 Opal corsa it has a chain. 😁 Bob.
Yes indeed, also the reason we got a Movano..
Sorry PeterCarole29 cannot answer your direct question.... our 2014 Movano has only done 30000mls so will follow thus thread with interest..

If ours does start to rattle we will have the clutch done at the same time and if clutch goes we will have the chain done.
But fingers crossed both are all good. Speaking to the local garage they also maintain a small fleet of masters and they have not had problems with the add blue which is encouraging as i have been reading some fiats have. Although they have with the smaller Renault delivery van

most of the vivaro, masters chains seem to let go at 170,000 miles but have probably been rattling long before that
