Just had new Timing belt Water pump 2 Aux belts and kit Full service New rear brake pads
and Mot After is been stood 4yrs cost £1000 Do you think that was a good price

Maybe depending on engine, but if you're happy then all's well with the world 👍

Now go enjoy and get some miles on the clock, motorhomes don't like standing idle.

Sounds very cheap having the water pump changed on an X290 puts the price of the belt job up a hell of a lot apparently it's pig to do.
I take it you didn't use a Fiat Professional garage?

Fiat say the pump does not need changing as its good for the life of the engine but standing for 4 years best changed.

Standing for 4 years I hope you are going to change the tyres.

Timing belt, pump and tensioners £677 this April. So the work you had done seems a reasonable price.

That sounds very cheap belt change at a Fiat Professional is over £800 waterpump a few hundred more.
Local garage. Was quoted up to £1200 with different garages and £799 was next cheapest with a large workshop.

Local garage
Used to think highly of my local but after the last service I wouldn't recommend then now.
For the cambelt I wouldn't take the risk you get a good guaranty with Fiat, I had mine done just before they put their labour rates went fron £75 an hour to £115 +VAT.

I've had problems with both locals and main dealers. I have no way to tell who is best or what they have really done. This time I based my choice on reviews as well as price.

Our local Fiat garage (40 miles away) is well regarded and have a seperate Motorhome section and are experts on the Comfomatic.

A few Funsters have travelled from up north to use them.

fitted new 4 years ago they say they will be OK

Are you going to use it now? Must be worth more than you paid for it 4 years ago. Why not sell?

I would have changed the tyres before the timing belt, never had a timing belt snap but I have had a blowout on Hymer 644 and it was not a pleasent experience !!
I've had a couple of blow outs on caravans, both times they did a lot of damage, never take the risk with tyres now.
