I’m about to place an order for the Tiekom data SIM and was wondering if the regular (direct debit?) payment could be made in € via my Revolut card.

Anyone know?

Ian

I've just set up my payment with my fee free euro transaction credit card.
I think it asked on the form you return credit or debit card. I guess revolut is a debit card.
Just put the info in and when you sign into your account with tiekom you have to re-enter it again so if it fails try a C/C.

I shall give that a go then. 👍

Well, my package from Tiekom arrived today and to my surprise, it contained TWO SIMs.

Is this normal?

Ian

Yes, but don’t know why, still on the first one for over a year,

Perhaps it’s just an insurance policy type thing.🤷‍♂️

In terms of firing it up for the first time, do you wait until you’re abroad and want to use it for the first time or do you fire it up in the UK and then immediately pause the service?

Ian

I used mine a soon as I received it in the uk, though I haven’t done it.
it’s only an email to suspend it for how ever long you want it,

I got 2 SIM cards as well.
Will fire one up in Jan shortly before we set out.

We’re using Tiekom, pay with Chase card no fees great exchange rate. They also gave us spare SIM cards. If you don’t want to park it when not using you just cancel that sim and activate a spare one next time you need it. Saves the E4 odd Euros a month to park it, saves them admin costs to send you a new sim. They can activate a new sim with 48 hrs notice.

How do you order a Tiekom SIM from the UK? Clicking on the '400GB (Europe)' package takes you to an online form to fill in. Are all orders done by email?

How long does the SIM take to arrive?

Thanks.

I believe so; that’s how I ordered mine.

Mine arrived exactly a week after I ordered it.👍

Thank you bigtwin and Speve . Much appreciated. (y)

Another question, do you have to specify the package or can you receive a SIM and set up your account, then activate the SIM at a later date?

I will of course email Camino.
