Happy to help
Hi all we are due to travel to Spain on 20th February although Brittany ferries have move our arrival from Santander to Cherbourg.
On Wednesday I noticed I had a large bulge in my lower abdomen which when pressed was soft and moved. This was mildly painful.
Wife retired NHS diagnosed a Inguinal Hernia, there followed a discussion what to do next we opted to ring the GP and couldn’t even talk to one never mind book an appointment, I explained I’d had a radical prostatectomy in 2020 and they agreed to a phone call the next day.
That was early Thursday around 4pm pain was worse so went to the local walk in centre. Quickly seen and diagnosis confirmed. Sent to Scarborough Hospital surgical assessment unit quickly seen and back home after seeing a surgical consultant who manually pushed the bowel back.
8.30 Friday morning surgical ward rang asking me to attend , prepped for surgery which was done and I was back home at 4pm feeling quite sore lol.
A huge thank you to the level of treatment and care given by all the staff.
just hoping I’m fit to drive by the 20th the proviso is I have to be capable of an emergency stop ✋
