Tents, Folding camper,Hired MoHo, now bought our own.
Hi all,
MH we are buying has what we thought we're privacy screens for awning. After seeing bags and briefly seeing contents( not picked van up yet) I believe it may be a Thule Residence extension , dealer fitted a new Thule omnistor awning never been used you could smell newness when I unwound it . I've found basic details and video on it , but does anyone own one? Is it worthwhile, stable, easy to erect. We are thinking a nice added bonus are we correct?

Brian.

If you tend to stay in one place for a week or more they maybe worthwhile otherwise probably not. They seen to be amongst the most regretful buys as they take a good while to set up properly.I bought one for the 1st motorhome, never again.A drive away is so much better. We have a Khyam with inbuilt poles which goes up and down in less than 5 mins.

Looks like it will be a try out situation when we collect, but as we haven't paid any extra for it it's no loss, just wondering what anybody using one thought.

Thanks for reply.

We had a residence that came with the van.
It was a pain to put up and weighed a ton and took up too much room.
That said, our canopy is 5m.
I sold it and bought a Kampa xxl air awning
Easy to put up. Stayed up in gales but again weighs a bit (not as much as residence)

Yes I wondered about the weight possibly a lot extra when we get loaded. Probably use it if we're planning on staying somewhere or if the kids use the van on a site.
