Off on my first trip Friday with our new awning fitted. Back in the day with my Vw t5 I had a Vango inflatable awning and always made sure it was dried out before packing away. Do I need to do the same with the Thule awning before winding it back in ?

If you need to leave and it's wet then roll it in. When you're in a dry place for a few hours roll it out to dry. Being rolled in damp won't do any damage in a few hours.
