Does anyone have knowledge of the Thule omnistor 12v awning. I’m having problems in that it won’t open or retract on the switch. I believe I can manually open it using a crank pin . I found this in my glove box but not sure if this is it. It fits in the hole on the awning cassette but doesn’t locate onto anything in the hole to turn if that makes sense. Any help is greatly appreciated
Thanks

Doesn’t look like it will fit to me.

Can anyone help?

That looks more like the key for your wheel nut locks.
I’ll have to check that Peter. Funny it’s the correct thread to fit on the winding handle. I bet your right though lol

Hi just read your post so not sure if you have sorted your problem. I have the electric awning and that photo looks exactly like my adapter. It measures 45mm x 20mm diameter. After taking off the protective cap on the awning the thin end of the adapter has to be pushed into the drive mechanism that is spring loaded . The other threaded end, internal 6 sided , needs to be driven. My crank has a riveted on T and does not fit this adapter so I have used a bolt and nuts to create a way of driving it with a socket.

Thanks delia. I have ordered an adaptor. Should be coming this week. I have a long handle winding crank which when split in two has a thread on the end which I believe the adaptor will thread onto . Looking forward to getting the awning open to see why it won’t open via the motor. Got a feeling the motor isn’t quite aligned properly

Yep thats the right thing, you need to push hard to engage the little nut you see in one of the photos above. And be careful, I rounded off the damn thing! where did you order yours?

You were right about pushing hard bob .It was really tight. Sprayed inside with wd40 a few times and engages a lot better know. Ironically the adaptor that arrived was the same as the one I found floating about in my glove compartment so I’ve got two of the things now lol. I think i got it from Rose awnings in Poole about £35

I have that one, and Hillview Awnings told me that the handle is only to close the awning in an emergency. It can't (or at least shouldn't) be used to open it. That nut doesn't appear until the awning is already open, then the handle fits on it.

Someone on another forum said it can be done, but you have to hit it with a hammer to get it to engage with the "nut".

I didn't fancy that and took it to a professional ...
