When parking the awning it closes completely flush to body and the eases the 2 ends back out about 15mm. The centre looks as if it stays tight to body.

Tried recalibrating the closing as per Thule video but it does exactly the same.

Emailed Thule who responded after 10 days and suggested booking it onto a dealer .

Anyone else had this issue?

How long is it? Our manual 5.5m awning had a large bend in the front rail which resulted in similar to what you show

But yours seem odd that it goes right in then spits the ends out 🤔

Our awning was replaced due to an accident, we now use a centre bracing pole to hopefully stop it happening again, I presume you don’t have this option on electric awnings

Could it be the front rail is bent ?

Is it a 230v motor?
Possibly bent but it does retract flat to the side and then releases slightly at the ends.

Yes a 230v motor.

It's 6.0m I think from memory. I've recently purchased a centre support although it was more to stop the fabric sagging. Not sure how effective it will be regarding preventing a bend in the rail?

Next time I get a chance I will have a good look at the front rail and check it's integrity.

Sometimes with the centre support it's best to tie down the ends then add the centre support. If you use straps it can pull the ends down but the centre support stays in its original position thus bending the rail and at 6m it doesn't take much.
If it is bent just put the end legs out without centre one and apply some downward pressure to the middle, wind in and try again until it sit flat.
If the rail isn't bent it might have lost its limits my awning would do this if the awning was out and all power was cut it doesn't happen when wound in home only when out. When it's wound in it would close completely on the torque setting programmed but then wind out a little this show it needs to be reprogrammed with its limits.
If it's 230v it will be a nice shutter motor Nice manual much better than the Thule.

Tried the recalibration process. I couldn't get the awning to wind in and sit tight to the body as each time it released the tension and sat out at each end.

I then tried starting the process but manually wound it in tight after the first stage and then continued the calibration. It's much better now but not perfect.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
