Hi all, I got Bessacarr E635 2008 and thule 12v step will not retract. Switch bleeps and showing on control screen that it's working but it not operating.
Any help welcome as I priced them and they £300 🙄
Thanks in advance
Ant

What type of step is it? One that just slides out or one that drops down? Just replaced the electric motor shaft on mine which is the second type.

Yes it's the one that drops down. Is it straight forward to replace motor shaft?
Thank you

it's about time the manufacturers sorted the design as judging by the number of similar posts on here electric steps must be one of the most problematic items on a m/home.

As said, it is normally the plastic gears that strip in the gearbox of the motor.
When the gears on our step stripped, I found that a Bosch headlamp levelling motor and the Thule motor for the step are one and the same thing, but £100 cheap that the Thule price.
I bought a Bosch unit from eBay which fits and works just as the original Thule one did. £38 on eBay.

Thank you for that, it's good to know other parts do the same thing.
That's very helpful, thank you 👍
