We saw French motorhomes on the beach at Koh Lanta. Can't imagine the journey to get there.

I have met a few Germans and a Dutch family who did the drive in a truck 20 odd years ago, problem now is you need to drive through a few countries with all the wars going on. If you fancy doing Thailand and beyond this guys are worth having a chat with.

I have Belgian friends on route to China at present .. they're currently in one of the stans

Having travelled through ,Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, Russia, Mongolia, and several other countries ....18 months on the road so far. For China they have to be part of an escorted group.

I'm surprised they got into Russia without a group. We looked at visiting a few years ago and it was incredibly difficult to travel unless you were on a package. Autocratic regime's don't do freedom.
