Well yes they are....Camperstops in our region of Murcia...another stopover just opened very near, but not too near the A7 Autovia near Totana...we found it by chance due to roadworks closing our route and diverting us right past it ..for a night to break your journey, or a couple to check out the area..takes the strain off the overcrowded nearby locations..
7€ plus 3€ for electricity
Local guy had spent a fair bit of cash and time to put this place together...it's only been open 8 days....and is getting good reviews on Google so far...
Also proposed new Campsites and Camperstops between Mazarron and Aguilas will be built ready for the next winter season or before....

It makes sense especially in your region where the snowbirds have been turfed off the beaches. The aire we were on near Cope was full all winter I understand. The demand is there.

The more the merrier! We gave up and came home after being turned away from so many places this last winter.

I'm very sorry to hear that...if you had contacted us here in Murcia, we could have helped you out....although we have an apartment here, we travel throughout the year as we are right now...82 km from home, totally different environment, peaceful, 3 vans tonight...

There is hope that a large campsite company, with links to Guardamar and Catral, will open a campsite at Cabo Cope. The environmentalists are protesting though.

Another campsite, to be opened near the Taray Camperpark seems to be getting the go-ahead.

I guess the local water and sewage systems have to be able to meet the demand too. They can put in their own treatment plant but the treated sewage still has to go somewhere.

A case of not what you know, but who you know?

I think after the Warren Buffett fiasco that literally was only thwarted by the 2008 crisis it will fail. At the outset even with the collossal area buffet + backers was proposing to construct on that 'permissions' had been given even though it was an sssi, protected zone, by all & everyone it wasn't until some years later & it had all been through the courts that the spanish supreme court removed the vast majority, over 80%, of " permissions " for building on the whole area due to being illegally obtained, cotrary to protected zones, etc, rendering the original project,& the Vera to Cartegena "Ghost" highway dead in the water. The vast majority of it now is completely protected & the only reason it was saved is the 2008 crisis. Otherwise they would have started construction & continued building like they always do whilst dragging out court appearances with delaying tactics.

Our domestic sewage treatment plant's output is certified for discharge into watercourses. We us it for garden irrigation. It's scalable...
