Race Van
I have just pitched up and noticed the red light is on in the toilet,on my Bessacarr 597. Any ideas why this is?
Still learning this new van.

Your loo is full or the float inside the cassette is stuck

Either the cassette is full, or the internal float with the magnet on, has stuck.

The design is for the cassettes to fill, lift the float and the magnet on the float, activates the light, telling you the toilets full.

There is a common fault, where the little PCB holding the reed switch fails and the light stays on. One screw to take out, remove cover, unplug board and replace. A 5 minute job but the board is about £20 and is about 40mm square

Sorted guy,s. Stuck float

Don’t worry Steve, once you’ve had to shake the cassette around a few times to remove the larger, more stubborn poops, the float and magnet will disappear, just like the rest of us have.

Sometimes just removing the cassette and refitting can clear the problem.

Just remove the PCB and throw it away, that's what I did. I do not need a light to let me know when my cassette needs emptying :giggle:

My spare cassette the red light came on every time we used it from the very first time.
Had it 6 years and never got around to looking at it as its only used occassionly. Got around to having a look at a couple of weeks ago, guess what no float as it's always done must have been missing when we bought it.

Reckon dealer where I bought it had it away, our Belgium dealer's showroom vans have always got bits missing where they have nicked them to repair customers vans.

They should have done more of this to help customers during the Covid period, but perhaps profits come before people in the M/H trade?
