I'm New!
Ran the Van for a while yesterday off grid.

The fridge is a 3 way with manual switch over.

When getting to where we were going (no hook up) I switched to gas, after a few minutes it just switched off. Gas was still good, it just powered down. Couldn’t switch it back on.

Interestingly turned the engine on, then back off and boosh back in action.

When it was on 12v but engine was off it doesn’t show any faults, I thought it was meant to fail when the engine was off???

Anything I’m missing or doing wrong?

The gas shut off works by reading a faint earth path through the flame from the piezo igniter to ground, if it does not see the earth it shuts down after about 3 minutes there is a set distance to set the igniter wire from the gas jet your's may be out of adjustment.

Even worse the current from the FFD, used to hold the gas valve open, is interrupted by the rotary switch to close the gas valve when switching to 12v or 230v. A dirty contact in the rotary switch will prevent operation on gas.

Whats odd though is it just shuts down, it doesn't fault or anything. I'm also 99% sure the gas is running as you can hear it ignite. It just powers down.
