What’s it like, any problems with it…?

Hi Smiffy, it looks like the same as ours, not had any problems with it until we left for our Ireland trip at the end of September and the fridge would not work on 12v while driving, had it checked out this week and it looks like the control panel needs replacing, been quoted £135. The only other problem was when we had that very hot week it struggled to keep cool, but that's a common fault with most fridges

Looks like the same as ours - haven’t experienced any problems in our 2+ years of ownership. The wine fridge (bottom drawer) is particularly handy :giggle:

Not the same model but my three year old Thetford has been no trouble and nothing has broken. A lot different from the Dometic models of the same age.

The ad says its no longer available, so are you looking at new (old stock) or second hand!

We have that one. I don't have a huge amount to compare it to as we are new to motorhomes but it is a good size and works well. If you fill up the main area too full then your bottle(s) of Pinot Grigio down the bottom might not get as cold as you'd like and the stuff at the top can freeze as the air doesn't circulate. Keeps it coldest when on gas. Overall we like it and it coped with August in Italy and Croatia.

We have the 4142E which is very similar. While working brilliantly on 240 Electric and 12V it never worked on Gas from new. (Brand new van) Sadly Thetford customer service was appalling and support from Thetford service centres non existent (they are only interested if you purchased it or the van from them) It took over a year to get them to replace it.

The new one works well but not impressed with the company at all.

There is a 20 amp fuse on the pcb. You need to dismantle it to get at it. Fitting an extractor fan at the top vent helps with cooling when it's very warm
