Just converting it,
Im building my first camper using a fiat Ducato, im into the shower unit and fitting the loo. Ive cut the hole in the side of the van and fitted the door and faced the toilet up to the interior ply wall and there is a gap of about 70-80 mm between the inside of the door frame and the inside of the toilet where the cassette goes.
The Question is………. What does everyone do to fill this gap in the neatest way possible, so the cassette goes in smoothly. I thought Thetford would use a tunnel but i cant seem to find a contact number for them and cant find anything on the net.

Some photos would help as I don't quite understand the problem.
A long time ago I fitted the older version of the 400 to a caravan I just butted the side of the loo upto the outside wall.

On motorhomes we have had with both the 260 & 400 there is always a gap between the loo moulding and the inside of the door to allow for pipe & cable runs. Normally a panel is fixed to the moulding with a cutout for the cassette to tidy it up.

Just to clarify are we talking about the 'hidden' bit between the back of the door frame and the toilet wall rather than in the shower compartment itself? If so that makes more sense of your dilemma.

Yes, maybe i just use some ply to tidy it up. Its just untidy when you open the toilet hatch. There is a gap between the back of the hatch frame and the start of the loo cassette holder.

Hi Morts, when I did ours I cut the door on the inside wall. The shower /toilet is on the left side of the van, and the door on the right. All I had to deal with, was a 15mm furniture board 2mm silicone and 6mm shower clad. So the gap is not that big. I sealed the bottom with silicone, and left the sides and top as it is.
If I was in you situation, I would create a reveal like around a window in ply or upvc capping fascia board. It doesn’t get much wet in there, just the occasional wet wipe. We didn’t want a cut through the side as it was not on the flat surface outside. The internal door access gives me the option of re fit in the future if I want to change the interior in a different configuration. A cut will be forever without option for relocate.

Instead of ply why not use some uPVC sheeting/window fillers etc ... have a mooch at B&Q in the uPVC windows section.
