Returning to a motorhome.
After forgetting about this over winter, I decided to have another go at fixing my non functioning loo flush.

Today I wired an endoscope to my phone to try and locate a fuse that is supposed to be in the cassette locker. I have found no such fuse. I did find a two pin white plastic plug that fits vertically on the rhs half way down. I pulled this out and tested for power and there was a good 12v +, so this was live. Not finding a fuse in the locker and there being one on my van's main fuse panel (sound) allocated to the toilet, I reasoned that there was either a dodgy switch at the base of the flush/flap opener or the micro switch that is operated when the cassette is moved in and out, or the pump was dead.

I can't see any way of getting to the switch operated by depressing the flush knob.
The micro switch operated by inserting the cassette clicks when pressed, so seemed to be operating.
So, I thought duff pump. (It was full of sludge that I cleaned out last Autumn). I took a deep breath and cut the wire. I then wired it to a battery and it whizzed away merrily - bugger!

So the pump works, there is power to the plug inside the cassette locker, but somewhere in between there is a problem. There is no power to the pump wire that I cut to remove it when depressing the flush.

I cannot find another fuse and the one on the main panel is fine (power to the plug)
I think the most likely candidate is a faulty switch at the base of the flush knob, but I can neither see it, nor find a way to access it. And now I have to make a watertight joint on the pump wire.

Any ideas?
Note: I have been using a squirty bottle, but would like to fix the flush as it is bugging me.

Update. I have just discovered that the microswitch that is operated when the cassette is inserted, is on the the rotating thingy that opens the cassette flap, that is at the base of the rotating flush knob, inside and on the lhs of the loo.
I was hoping that when I got the missus to depress the button I would see something happen underneath, but no. There must be another switch of some kind, hidden from view that is operated by depressing the flush knob.

How do I access these switches, I can't see any way of removing the rotating mechanism?

How difficult is it to totally remove the whole toilet? It's a cock eyed way of designing something, so you can't get at anything once it is installed!!!!!

are you sure the two pin plug you refer to isnt the fuse holder im sure mine is white and just inline

Well, being the impatient sort, I hit the internet (should have done that first!). I found a manual, found where the fuse should be and found there wasn't one. I poked my little finger up behind where it should have been and felt a loose wire. After poking about for a while I pulled it to where I could see it. On the end was a fitting that looked like it would fit nicely onto a fuse!
Diving into the manual again I discovered that 4 screws on the housing above, that were hidden from view, hard to locate and a stretch into the locker cavity needed to be removed to gain access to the wire.
Loads of grunting and groaning, filming with my phone to find them, poking about blindly to get a screwdriver on them before gradually undoing them - 2 at the very back of the locker, the assembly was free. Pulling out the 2 pin plug allowed its removal.
To the rear of the place where the fuse should have been were two wires each with fittings designed to fit on a blade fuse and remarkably these fitted into the slots where the fuse should have been!
Another half hour of grunting and grinding to locate and fit the 4 screws back and replace the plug and I could refit the flush knob which had have
to be removed also.
I twisted the wires on the pump back together, held my breath and pressed the flush knob.
Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! Phew! It worked.
Then I trimmed the wires back fitted heat shrink, soldered them together and shrank the shrink. I then wrapped self amalgamating tape round the two wires. I had already placed some larger diameter heat shrink on the cable that I then heated and shrank onto the taped wires.
I hope his will be water tight.
It was now getting dark so I locked up and went indoors expecting to find the missus ready to dish up a meal, which I usually have the job of cooking every day. Not too much to hope for being as I had been grafting all afternoon I thought. I found her watching you tube videos and the dogs pacing around the kitchen wondering where their dinner was too.
But that's another story.
Theory
Fuse blew due to the pump being full of gunge. Hamfisted someone pushed too hard trying to fit a new one. Wires were pushed out of the fitting. The someone couldn't be arsed to fix it. Bastard!
