Hi all. Have done a forum search but couldn’t spot anything. Emptying my 365 tank at a CL elsan point (manhole cover over main sewerage pipe). For some reason, before replacing the cap, I gave it a little shake………..& watched as the o ring flew out & down the 8’ drop 🙄☹️

Looking for a replacement & the only option is a whole new cap complete with the seal which seems a tad ott (& pricey). A measure of the pipe indicates about a 60mm ring required so was thinking of eBay/going to a plumbing merchant & trying.

I surely can’t be the only numpty to have done this……can anyone advise on correct/best sizing for a replacement ring, if done this way, or does it have to be a new cap ☹️ TIA 👍

I would just go to a plumbers merchant too.

Alternatively, a neat bead of silicone would do the same job but probably wouldn’t last.

This would work too if you cut it down.

Yeah, think it may be the best option. Not sure about the silicone……have to take that cap off every 4 days or so to empty……🤔 Trial & error I guess 🤪

My local hardware store sells big rolls of thickish rubber sheeting a metre wide and whatever you want long, I bought a meter and cut my own stuff from it, I’ve used it for washers and all sorts but I bought mainly to make washers for the toilet seat at home to stop it moving around… I would have sent you some but I’m away… try your own local shops…🤔

Just been into a local plumbing supplies……Explained the situation, showed him the cap & the guy looked completely baffled. Said they had nothing - although I had just been looking at trap seal kits in Wickes which had a washer only a couple of mil too big (probably 62 - 65 mil in size). Thanked him for his time & left 🤷‍♀️
