I'm a newbie
I’m looking to buy a thermal screen cover and noticed that these can be purchased in a couple of different colours alongside the ‘traditional’ silver. I want to use it to help retain heat in winter and to also help keep the van cool(er) in summer. I like the look of a Black/Grey screen cover but think that whilst these should help in retaining heat in the winter months, I wanted to know how they fare in summer use-my guess is that they’d contribute to warming a van in summer and therefore best avoided? Do any Funsters have any experience of using a black/grey thermal screen cover in both winter and summer? Would you buy one again or opt for a silver one next time ??
Thanks

I think the black ones are ok in the heat as well so they told me at minster products but are harder to keep clean and look grubby easy, ask me how I know🙄

Black will absorb the most heat from the sun so warmer in winter (although given the angle of the sun and day length not by much) and a lot hotter in summer. There isn't a colour that makes it warmer in winter and cooler in summer. I suspect that the other colours are offered to look different not because they're practical

I would also add that on the printed colours the material is woven (to allow printing) and coated to allow the rain to run off. After a few weeks of use they need re-proofing or absorb water.
