.......skylight. He is no longer alive but perfectly preserved in-between the two layers of plastic. Surely this is sealed 'double-glazing'? (2021 Burstner)

Obviously not sealed, or could the fly "blow" have been laid and laying dormant waiting to hatch in between the layers when moulded or extruded of the skylight, and the heat amplified from said skylight has caused the fly larvae to hatch, with no way out.
Only a thought.

Not a lot of stuff to eat in there to grow.
There is a tiny (1mm ?) hole in my windows with a tiny plug still in some of them. Yucky thought, and still pretty unlikely, but a maggot could probably squeeze in, pupate and hatch. 0.o

He? There is nothing wrong with your eyesight if you can work out the sex (or gender or whatever it is called nowadays)!

Yes! Just checked too small holes. Just like the side window and door window but no rubber plugs like there. Holes look to small for the fly. (actually 2 flies now I have looked closer) putting the hatch up and down has loosened them so they have fallen down the side now, so at least not visible.

There should be some very small holes that allows moisture out of the “double glazing” 😊

I don’t want you feeling too special and unique- I also have a fly between the panes of my skylight. Mine is a smaller fly than yours though.

It’s not always about the size, I’ve heard 😉😂
