There is much that we can be thankful for.

I have noticed the sky appears to be a deeper Blue.
It's usually milky white from all the aeroplane contrails by lunchtime.
Very true, Heathrow bank their incoming aircraft over our area we sometimes get some spectacular sights of vapour trails, however, as you say the sky is much bluer but I don't see it lasting....

You will have to be an early riser if you're looking to parkup, very busy today as I passed.

Hi PhilMary, went up to Ribblehead and walked Whernside. I think we were the only motorhome there. I’ve put a couple of pictures on the What have you done today thread.

It does take some willpower to be virtuous but it is working for me :blusher:. I was up at 6am out for a walk had a bit of breakfast weltered the plants made some phone calls got some steak out of the freezer for tonight's dinner. Hang on I'm sounding more boring than virtuous.
Nah! Just sounds like you've imbibed too much disinfectant. :imoutahere:

Well our 8 weeks has been so so. We currently live in an apartment with no garden and no balcony as ground floor. As lock down approached we were nearing completion on an apartment with garden 2 large balconies and very large terrace. Things just getting going again with property but it seems to have been a bit of a struggle but good times ahead all being well.

Hope you get your new flat soon ...lockdown certainly focuses your priorities

I had the shielding letter and the phone call from NHS to make sure i am ok for food and help .
I told them i am ok and help some of the people who need the help .

I have been out only to get food etc and am isolating in my newly bought fifth wheel .
I have offered help to a lady on the site who is also isolating with shopping and just her having someone to talk to if she needs it but it seems she is doing ok, she has a tumour on her spine . She texts me now and again but at least she knows she is not alone here and i am here if she needs anything .

I need a place to pitch up longish term when this all dies down a bit , no point looking at the moment though.

Keep safe everyone (y)

I also have the shielding letter all four pages of it, I must say I haven’t stuck completely to it , we take a walk almost every day just to keep a little fit but no risk as nobody about out front and shopping all delivered.
I must say I’m getting nervous about the slackening of the lockdown :Eeek:

Not missing children in the supermarket, and the noisiest thing we hear are the lambs in the field at the bottom of the garden. To be honest quite enjoying life, except not getting away. We have only managed two trips this year before lockdown.

The van has had a new solar panel installed, and a socket for the inverter fitted.

We've realised we don’t want leather upholstery and have bought two more Skye Skins for the lounge seats. Looks good.

The kitchen has had a velux skylight window fitted.

Him Indoors has realised he can grow radishes, but tomatoes, peppers and other salad plants have been disaaaaaastrous dahlings....

I’ve kept in touch with the lovely girlfriends from Beni, and with Handsome Julio from Villasol who has been keeping us fit and teaching us Spanish via Zoom.

I’ve come to know that English is the easiest language to speak. Spanish has different verbs for permanent and temporary states, as well as past and present.

I was given a question - Juan is lame, one armed, blind, deaf and mute. Is the verb in the sentence permanent, as in ‘es’ or temporary, as in ‘esta’. I said ‘Obviously Julio, it’s ‘es’ as in permanent. ‘No Geraldine’ says Julio - ‘Juan has been in an accident, so the verb is temporary’ ??? ‘But Julio’ says I ‘Juan is never going to get his arm back, he will probably always be lame, blind, deaf and mute, so surely the verb is permanent!’ ‘No Geraldine (I wish I could let you hear how he says Geraldine .... #swoon emoji ) he says - if the disabilities are caused by an accident - the verb is temporary - if he had been born lame, one armed, blind, deaf and mute, it would be permanent!

I then posed another question ‘what about new words Julio. Internet, WiFi, Brexit, Coronavirus’ - who decides whether those words are masculine or feminine? And how the hell do they decide?!!!?

He smiled his enigmatic, Argentinian smile - ‘Geraldine’ he says ‘some things you just do not need to know - just remember El profesor siempre tienen la razon’ - I googled that and I think it says - the teacher is always right!

Next week is our last with Julio, as he has to go back to Villasol to prepare for the summer season ? I’m sure he won’t miss his most annoying student!

Can anyone remember a more gorgeous Spring before this one? I don’t think it’s rained hardly at all since we got home from Spain. We have supertastic suntans!

We haven’t eaten a biscuit or a cake for the whole Lockdown phase, so are suitably self righteous, and alcohol consumption has been reduced as much as possible. This will be reversed as and when we can get out in the van!

So that’s what we’ve been doing during lockdown - and what we’ve been thankful for. Who would have thought that Zoom would have meant more than a song by Fat Larry’s Band - I think that is what I’ve been most thankful for!

We have been thankful for the lack of lorries and cars on our lane. It has been busy with walkers instead. This last week has changed and it is back to being used as an extension to the bypass.

Same here with traffic. The road at the end of our short garden has been nice and peaceful other than the morning and afternoon surge when all the essential workers move about. Now unfortunately it’s gone back to full fat all day traffic like it used be ? There were roadworks for several weeks before the lockdown and for the first couple of weeks when lockdown started , that meant traffic lights and standing traffic doesn’t make as much noise apart from the occasional oik with the loudest sound system known to man ! Now it’s like nothing ever happened.

Yes, I saw your pictures. I was expecting it to be jammed with trippers.
Day off yesterday as it was Sainsbury's and Lidl.

I am in the process of ripping the old rotted roof off our garage and taking the chance to build the garage another 18" higher before putting a new roof on. We were just saying today that if the lockdown had not happened we'd have kept putting off and putting off the job in favour of trips in the MH.

Further to the above, we hired a skip to take away the remains of the roof.

Our daughter said, can we put two old doors in the skip. Yep. So they were put next to the skip, neighbour comes along, "can I have those two old doors"? Yep.

Old roof beams waiting to go in skip, another neighbour comes along "can I have that wood for my son's wood burning stove ? Yep.

Daughter comes back, "oh you still have space in the skip, can I put some old carpet in the skip and an old mattress to save a trip to the dump"? Yep.

So made three people happy, got our rubbish away and did some recycling.

I expect a letter of commendation from Greta will be forthcoming !!!

i'm thankful that the Chinese opened today with full sd ,allowing me to buy the rest of the wall coverings (y)
