The Unit that switches off the Internal alarm when you exit the vehicle and leave the dog in.

Hi.
Our FIAT Ducato has come with a Unit that disables the internal alarm. The main little unit fits in the dashboard and a little " fob " type unit with two small electrodes ? Is on the key ring. When leaving the m/ho,you insert the fob into the little unit on the dashboard, a Red light flashes/blinks and then goes out,you exit the vehicle and all is well.
However...Now.... The Red light on the dash unit is on ALL the time,stays on while driving. I really don't want to go taking the dashboard to pieces if there is no need,but, if i have to..... i must. Thanks in advanced for any clues.

PS. I have read about the locking of the vehicle,it seems that if i Lock the doors with the Key.. The Internal Alarm doesn't set anyway,only with the remotes for the doors . True ? Is that a get around.

We have this system too. When this happened to us I contacted the alarm people (who's name escapes me now) who told me to reset it by pulling the fuse. I've a note of which one mine's wired to, that I'll dig out for you.

If you lock the doors with the key, the alarm is not armed.

Do you not have a remote lock/arming fob? Mine has a button that locks the doors, sets the alarm but disables volumetric sensors.

Hi gus-lopez.
It drove home ok, been sorting out stuff that i had abandoned in the excitment,thinking it was following along behind on the friday...
BIG test is this monday coming ,its given 4/5 days good weather at Praia de Mira ,so, i will ease out of the ranch ( ) and take a ...steady ?.. drive up and over from Mortagua to Luso. THAT will sort the wheat out from the chaff..
Learnt something the other day, that seems to have been hidden from me over the years. Mate of mine ( A...Spanner man...say no more ) has gone over to Canadia Susskatches..? whana ?? saying he hates the winters. I told him HE chose to go on the spanners,i chose to ride up in the cab.
Now.... perhaps the moment of truth....? His reply.
" I HAD TO GO ON THE SPANNERS....YOU WERE WRECKING THEM FASTER THAN THEY COULD BE MENDED !!! "

Thanks for the info. Read on and laugh...
" volumetric sensors " While on a SAGA holiday to Australia and new Zealand,went to a BBQ at a big farm. At least 6 oil drums heating up several big round metal plates, NO empty glasses were allowed...It was One of the many highlights of the trip, after we had eaten we drew the chairs/logs/stumps up around an open fire and he proceeded to make a cake ( Of sorts ) As he added ingrediants he came to the flour sack,putting his hand into the sack he said "....and 5 " Metric " handfulls of flour "

Hi.
Gearbox News.......GOOD NEWS !!! Sat sitting here at Praia de M. Municipal campismo ( 1hr away )
Came up and over Mortagua to Luso NO PROBS " S'bends-ups and downs " . Will check for oil leaks in the morning. So far so good,weather not to bad till thursday,so will pull the pin then and get back home.
Little Cafe/restaurant STILL open,meal of the day 19.00 hrs Carrot soup,Meat or fish and cake.1 large glass of wine and 1 VERY SMALL !!! l 2 ltr glass of beer.
Might be foggy on the pitch in the morning,so i may treat myself to a lie in.....
