Our MH is fairly clean all over (does need a wash after recent trip) but not the roof, after our recent trip and having trouble getting TV reception on the old Status 530 I went and bought a Status 570, easy enough to fit almost a straight swap barring screw holes, anyway back to the roof it seems UV and lack of cleaning is leaving the roof with a fairly textured finish (unless its supposed to be) I bought a very long handled car washing brush from Aldi the other day and intend on giving it a scrub but I don't feel I should try and scrape the remaining crud off for fear of damaging the (I assume) glass fibre, is there anything out there that we can kind of recoat the roof with with out it running all over, what do you do?

I'm gonna be honest here , i would really like to see a picture of your roof , before getting too involved here . If your roof is fibreglass , it is entirely possible you have a non-slip surface up there , maybe installed by a previous owner , but possibly supplied from new . Boats commonly have a purpose purchased non slip deck paint applied , but i have heard of people mixing , i think silica sand into the gel coat to achieve the same result .
If this is the case , no amount of cleaning or scrubbing will remove it , though to be frank this would be the first time i've ever heard of it , being used on a vehicle . My own van has an aluminium roof , but does have fibreglass mouldings front and back which also had become extremely grubby . Soaking or washing didn't touch this scum , but i still remove it fairly simply , with a very light scouring pad similar to a pan scrubber . The pads come in three grades , and i generally use them for preparing undamaged paint ready for over coating , a very light scoring is required for adhesion , and these panels are being prepared for machine polishing anyway .

Wet and forget

Spray on then leave for a month then wash with your brush and a good wash and wax then spray again

Don't don't use anything else except snowfoam and the long handed brush you brought

I did have a go and got a lot off but that lichen don't like letting go, oh and the roof is smooth under all the crap, found a tent peg and a clip off the cycle rack that holds it up when not in use - bonus :)

Reapply the wet and forget and leave a bit longer to lift the lichen. Best to rinse the side again if you do.

How many 12ft tall people do you know?

Nobody sees your roof, why bother. When it's clean it only gets mucky again.
We nearly always see our roof when on a ferry 😂 even once saying Oh my G-d look at the state of the roof, just as someone said, have you seen the state of that roof oops

We are ‘fortunate’ if that’s the right word to be able to see the top of our van from the upstairs windows.
So I have keep it clean or I get told off 😂

Snow-foam left for 20 minutes, long-handled soft brush followed by jet-wash, works for me.
Oh yeah, and my hover-board ;)
