With the final decision of FIFA to approve Morocco, Spain and Portugal as hosts for the 2030 World Cup to be made on 11 December ( a foregone conclusion) animal rights campaigners are concerned as to the survival of up to 3 million stray dogs.

Here is a link for donations to help the animals

As I know dog loving members on here are going there soon here is a petition to sign for FIFA to help put a stop to it.

A lot of emotive language in that statement. Clearly they have a problem if there’s 3m feral dogs, what is the organiser of the petition suggesting is a better way of dealing with the problem? Genuine question.

Moat of the dogs we came across in Morocco had ear tags which showed they had been treated for rabies ( with shots) neutered and de flead.never had an issue with the dogs being agressive in fact most appeared to be quite friendly and would tag onto you. The locals would leave food and water out for strays , cats as well.

We noticed there were hardly any dogs in Istanbul and were told that the authorities there had a program for neutering the males.

I'm not in favour of animal cruelty but too many wild dogs can be a problem, there have been numerous reports of dog attacks in Morocco, quite a few being fatal for locals and tourists. A French lady was killed by dogs on one of the campsites at Kenitra not that long ago
