This could be Rotterdam or anywhere….

Today we’ve had the dullest of journeys from Bruges to Amsterdam. Think Belgian roads, massive tailbacks through Antwerp and Rotterdam and other places. Boring industrial landscape. Mile after mile after mile of trucks to overtake. Then more miles of trucks. I put this in my top 3 along with the M6 and the Po Valley in Italy. Still, we’re here now.

We drove from near Koblenz to Bruges , turning left effectively near Antwerp.
Approaching Antwerp in the slow lane it slowly dawned on me that I was in a lane of hundreds of trucks going slower and slower as we got nearer.
This , unbelievably was maybe 10 or 15 miles away.
Once I'd worked this out and moved over a lane we got on ok.
The road (an E numbered main road) was lovely surfacewise in Germany and immediately awful once we crossed into Belgium.

A beautiful south fan then….😎

The roads around Antwerpen must rate amongst the worst in Europe for trucks and poor surface. Been stuck there a few times.
