You need to find your power controller / charger box. At that age might look vaguely like this...
The black box right hand side controls 12V sockets and water pump, lights etc.....
Note that under the clear cover on the left is the 240V AC system for when on hook up. 111111.jpg222222.jpg
Welcome to Fun.

Model of motorhome? Many are based on Ducato base vehicles.
Is the m/home new to you and this is the first time you've tried the 230v sockets on EHU?
Is the 230v camp site bollard or your home socket (if at home) live?
Have you checked that the RCD in your m/h hasn't tripped?

They probably only work on hookup. Unless you have an inverter and a switchover somewhere. You should have a mains distribution box somewhere. Usually near where the power comes in. Might be a tripped breaker or blown fuse.

Your sockets are either wired to an inverter so they can run off one of the batteries or through a mains distributer box. If it's new to you ask the previous owner how it's wired up and how to switch them on I would expect to have been shown when getting the vehicle.

Have a look in the bottom of your cupboards or in the wardrobe for any rcd's/isolators that may have become switched off by accident ?

Very new not used it yet, didn't think to try sockets, plugged into the hook up but still didn't work, found a little fuse panel under the seat , don't know if one of them or which one would be the problem.

The 12v fuses will be completely separate from the mains stuff. The box will probably be in a cupboard near where the external connector is.

What model of motorhome is it. Ducato is just the base vehicle.

We can't help much without the make, model and approx age of the motorhome.

It would help if you gave the info that I requested in the first reply to your post...........

The 230v RCD/fuse/distribution box will look something like this:

Unfortunately there are so many variations on a theme that unlike a car Fiat Ducato 1998 doesn't narrow the field down. For us to be more help perhaps you could include any other details that might be painted on the outside such as Autotrail. With this information there may well be a wiring diagram on line.

Think of it as your house. The electricity supplier provides the cables and power to your meter. Then from that it goes through your fuse board/circuit breakers/consumer unit - it works in the same way in your motorhome.

You provide the cable and the power (via your hook up cable and whatever it is plugged into) and it will go through some sort of consumer unit, where there will be a main switch and circuit breakers. You need to locate that and make sure it's switched on as your first option.

Then you need to confirm power is on wherever you're plugged into and then that the hookup cable is fine at both ends - the wires come out of the terminals sometimes so need rewiring. Then it might be that your connection into the motorhome itself that needs checking.

Not teaching you to suck eggs but make sure everything is disconnected before you start taking things apart.

Process of elimination will you get you there, start at the end where power is supposed to be coming from.

You may find that an electric pen tester from Screwfix or Toolstation is helpful as you dont need to undo stuff to check for power. I repeat though safety first !!

Fiat Ducato, 1998
Is it a van that's been converted by someone (so it still looks like a van on the outside other than having windows fitted) or has it got a front like a van and a back that's made of aluminium or grp?. Has it got a manufacturer's name other than fiat?. Maybe best to post a picture

If it's a DIY conversion then I think all bets are off. At the very least there should be a small consumer unit (a 'garage' unit) that has a circuit breaker in it. However all things are possible, and maybe there isn't. Is the mains inlet socket located on the outside of the van, or is it inside, in a locker or near the back doors perhaps? This van is a 1998 model, so very likely converted before all those regulations about RCDs etc came in about 2007.

We may never know as the OP has had the 5 free posts.
It's a shame, as with a bit more info 'we' could most likely have helped.

And he, she or they have wasted four questions by not making the first one more clear. How sad.
Especially when a year's membership is, like me, so cheap....
