I have a Samsung phone with a hundred gbs a month data..How can i tether it to my mac book air to enable me to use some of its data ? Keep it simple because i am a dinosaur.BUSBY.

Easy

Settings...
Connections...
Mobile hot spot and tethering...
Then mobile hot spot switch to switch it on

Hang on I'll just run through that...

Yes after you've touched the hot spot switch to turn it on, touch the words "mobile hot spot" and it tells you the password etc.

You can also share with others if you give them the password.
I usually turn mine on for the grandkids when they travel with us or for the wife to catch up on Facebook etc..

I get 6gb a month of data from Tesco. I used to think that was quite a lot but tethering and hotspots use up loads of data. 100gb a month must be plenty though.

I tether to my iPad permanently, never go over 20gb in a month.

I tether to my work’s phone, waiting for the fallout from 2 days of TV over last weekend when I had no Satellite or a Digital signal :D2

I have the same phone, works fine but if you have nothing tethered for a while it switches the hotspot off to save battery No problem just switch it back on when you need it.
