Tap, wrong way

New owner..Quick question…My Kitchen tap (2001 swift).. Discharges water when in the down position, surely it should when the lever is raised..This means we can’t keep the glass lid down when the pumps on as it pushes the tap down…I believe it’s a Reich twist down mixer tap…..is this something that can be rectified easily, do you think someone previous replaced a component the wrong way?..the 2 other taps in the van are ‘Lift to operate’..Many thanks in advance

Can you post a couple of photos? That might help to allow us to see the type of tap and the issue and hopefully someone can suggest a 'cure'.

All sorted thank you, it’s a reich tap,but was broken on the inside anyway,so replaced….in term of operating the wrong way…if you pop the blue/red indicators off the top of the tap,undo the screw, you can lift the tap lever off and turn it 180°, replace the screw and it’s good to go
