Seen a 1992 Rmb 670 silver star I really fancy on the owners forum, 75 000 miles on the clock. Allegedly a turbo diesel, automatic and looks in good nick.
Only problem is it’s in Henley on Thames and I’m in Scotland!
Can anyone give me a good reason why not to buy!?
Alex

It’s big
It’s old
Euro II?

Has to be cheap

Okay, but it, live with it or live in it.
Yes but……..

It’s got no adblue
No electronics
No pdf filter
No cambelt
No comfortmatic/sprintshift nonsense

…….aaaaand you can fix it with various sizes of lump hammer 🤪

My Hymer is on 2005 Mercedes chassis and now showing signs of its age visually and in my wallet

Another 15 years older you must allow for potential expensive repairs , but on the plus side it will have less or no daft sensors waiting to fail 🤔👍

I would want a full underbody examination for Rust .. it's a killer on old vans.. check MOT history to see if it has had welding done..
Obviously I would get under it and check but the mot is clear, if it’s failed it’s been on a light bulb or washer fluid or other really minor faults

I wouldnt worry overmuch about a Vario being auto, you wont have to change gear very often but it might be a little noisy.
Got arthritis in my feet and hands so want to make driving as easy as possible 👍

Is it this one?

Looks like it might be on 410d chassis 2.95 cyclinder?
What do you think EuroTrotters you know your Mercs, will that be turbo? I was buying Merc Vans back then, i dont think turbo was on the option list in 1992.but maybe in Lhd form?

What kind of Hymer have you got David?

It’s an S800

My comment was a bit tongue in cheek based on my other repair cost thread

I think Bev might not be best pleased 🤔🙄😁
